Members of the gifted advocacy community have approached the major political parties, asking their education spokespeople to blog about their perspectives on giftedness. As with other bloggers, we offer them guest spots if maintaining a blog is not part of their busy lives.
Associate Minister of Education, Rodney Hide, writes:
“I am pleased to support Gifted Education Awareness week 13- 20 June 2011. I believe that responding to the individual learning needs of children is essential to help them grow to their potential. Supporting their individual gifts and talents during their schooling years makes a positive difference to their educational progress. I acknowledge the contribution that educationalists in New Zealand make in gifted and talented education, and wish you every success for this week and beyond.”
It is my pleasure to thank Rodney for his participation and support.
